HUNTINGDON, Pa. — Goucher was out-shot 25-6 this afternoon in its first Landmark Conference game of the season, a 6-0 loss to three-time defending champion Juniata.
Five different players scored goals for the Eagles (6-3, 1-0 Landmark). After Paula Price tallied the first goal 4:19 into the contest, Shauna Deschenes scored the next two goals ahead of Liz Slimak, Jaqueline Hoozemans and Brittany Kauffman.
Juniata led 2-0 at halftime.
Moira Nugent, who started in goal for the Eagles, earned
the shutout by making four saves.
For the Gophers (2-6, 0-1 Landmark), junior Micki Manheimer (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) started in goal and played more than 60 minutes, stopping seven shots to boost her conference-leading total of saves so far this season to 68.
