Manheimer Earns Honor from Landmark Conference
MADISON, N.J. For her role in Goucher's 3-2 victory over Moravian in double overtime on Saturday, junior goalie Micki Manheimer (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) was recognized today as the Defensive Player of the Week in the Landmark Conference for Oct. 11-17.
Junior Makes 15 Saves, Stops Three Attempts in Stroke-Off
MADISON, N.J. — For her role in Goucher's 3-2 victory over Moravian in double overtime on Saturday, junior goalie Micki Manheimer (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) was recognized today as the Defensive Player of the Week in the Landmark Conference for Oct. 11-17.
Manheimer was credited with 15 saves through 70 minutes of regulation and the two 15-minute overtime periods, matching her career-high for a single game. In the subsequent stroke-off, she stopped all three of the Greyhounds' attempts.
Regulation ended with the two teams deadlocked at 2-2 and Manheimer having made seven saves. She made plays on two Moravian shots in the first OT and on all six shots the Greyhounds got off in the second extra session.
Manheimer ranks first among goalies in the Landmark Conference in saves this season with 113 through 13 games.
