HUNTINGDON, Pa. — Kortney Showers scored three times in the first half as Juniata took care of Goucher in its conference opener.
Through 17 minutes, Goucher (4-5, 0-2 Landmark) and Juniata (5-4, 1-0 Landmark) found themselves in a cautious and tentative game, with each side only mustering one shot.
After that, however, the game was squarely in Juniata's favor.
Over the next 13 minutes, the Eagles raced out to a 4-0 lead behind three goals from Kortney Showers and one from Emma Dahmus. The team added three second half goals to put away the Gophers.
