Hooper Collects Landmark Conference Offensive Player Of The Week Honors For Goucher Field Hockey

BALTIMORE, Md. – Ari Hooper (San Diego, Calif./Poway), a member of the Goucher College field hockey team, has been named the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the first weekend of the season announced on Tuesday. It is the first conference weekly award for Hooper.

Hooper scored the final two goals for the Gophers in a span of one minute and 29 seconds to propel the team to its first win of the season with a 3-0 victory against Transylvania University on Sunday.  Hooper took over the game with a pair of goals at the 54:59 and 56:27 marks in the contest off feeders from Nolwenn Daniels (Newark, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) and Meghan Oakes (Boothbay, Maine/Boothbay Region), respectively.

Hooper scored in the second game of the season for the second-straight year and now has five goals and four assists for 14 points in her career.

Hooper becomes the fourth offensive player of the week for Goucher since joining the Landmark Conference and the first since former teammate Maya Belin took home the honor last year on Sept. 24, 2018. The Gophers have had four offensive awards and six defensive awards since the inception of the league.

Goucher returns to action on Saturday against Southern Virginia University. Game time is 11:30 a.m.
