Field Hockey Begins 2023 At Home September 1
TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College field hockey team, under first-year head coach E.A. Jackson, begins its 2023 season at home on Friday, September 1 when it hosts Sewanee in a 7 pm contest at Beldon Field. The game against the Tigers kicks off an 18-game slate for the Gophers, including 10 contests at home.
Goucher is home for its first three games, also welcoming Meredith (September 4) and Eastern Mennonite (September 6) to campus. After a pair of road contests, the Gophers return home and open a three-game homestand with their Landmark Conference opener against Wilkes University on Saturday, September 16. Wilkes and Lycoming College have joined the Landmark beginning with the 2023-24 academic year.
September's second homestand consists of Wilkes, Ferrum (September 22) and Lycoming (September 23). The month rounds out with road tilts at Hood (September 26) and Juniata (September 30).
October sees four more home games for the Gophers, beginning with a Monday, October 2 non-league date against Bryn Athyn. Goucher also hosts Susquehanna (October 11), Drew (October 14) and Catholic (October 18) in Landmark play. The regular season concludes Wednesday, October 25 at Moravian.
With 10 teams in the conference, the Landmark Conference tournament is now made up of six teams. The opening round is set for Saturday, October 28, with the semifinals slated for Wednesday, November 1 and the title match on Saturday, November 4.
