Rangers Keep Gophers from Much-Needed Landmark Win

MADISON, N.J. — Goucher was able to hold Drew's Asmar Capers in check last season. Even though he finished the 2010-11 campaign as the leading scorer in the Landmark Conference at 22.0 points per game, he was held to seven points the first time the Gophers faced the Rangers and 11 points the second go-round.

Capers, now a senior, apparently wasn't going to settle for another subpar performance against head coach Leonard Trevino's squad, at least tonight. He torched the Gophers for 28 points, going 9-for-18 from the field, including 5-for-8 on 3-point attempts in helping to secure a 74-65 Landmark Conference victory for the Rangers.
