Coaches Find All-Landmark Spot for Livingston

TOWSON, Md. — Julian Livingston (Bowie, Md./Fairmont Heights), Goucher's top scorer and second-leading rebounder this season, claimed one of the spots on the 2013-14 All-Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Team which was announced today.

A vote by the conference's eight head coaches placed the sophomore forward on the All-Landmark second team, where he joined Brandon Hedley, a sophomore guard from Susquehanna, Zach Karczewski, a senior guard from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Mike Klinger, a sophomore guard from Drew, Steve Limberiou, a junior forward from Catholic, and Tommy Morgan, a senior guard from Scranton.

Morgan was also selected Defensive Player of the Year.

The All-Landmark first team included Ross Danzig, a junior guard from Scranton, Brendan Boken, a sophomore forward from Scranton, Bryson Fonville, a sophomore guard from Catholic, Jeremy Hays, a senior guard from Juniata, Harley Sellinger, a senior center from Susquehanna, and Nick Sergio, a senior forward from Merchant Marine.

Danzig was the unanimous choice of the coaches as Player of the Year.

Corey Stanford from Catholic was named Rookie of the Year; Carl Danzig and his assistants at Scranton were picked as Coaching Staff of the Year.

Livingston, who joined Darrin Boswell II (2008-09) and Trae Lindsay (2010-11) as the only three players from Goucher to earn all-conference honors since the school joined the Landmark Conference, averaged 17.1 points per game this season. The only two players who averaged more points per game than Livingston in the Landmark were Danzig (20.2 ppg.) and Klinger (19.4 ppg.).

Livingston also averaged 5.3 rebounds per contest and led the Gophers in blocked shots (17). He became only the sixth player in the history of Goucher's men's basketball program to score more than 33 points in a game when he tallied 34 against Susquehanna on February 5.
