• Goucher opens year five under head coach Tom Rose and the 30th campaign in program history at Valley Forge on Friday night
• It will be the fourth meeting in the all-time series against Valley Forge
• The Gophers defeated the Patriots 77-63 last season in Baltimore in the season opener
• The squad looks to win back-to-back season openers for the first time since defeating Maryland Bible in 2006-07 and 2007-08
• Goucher will start the season on the road for the first time since the 2016-17 season

• Valley Forge opened the season right down the road at UMBC with a 134-46 exhibition loss on Tuesday
• Matthew Altamirano paced the Patriots with 17 points while Bennie Howard, Jr. added 13 points with both players coming off the bench
• Valley Forge finished 2018-20 with a 1-20 record
• The Top-7 scorers from last year are no longer on the team

• Goucher used a 43-27 first half en route to a 77-63 win against Valley Forge on November 8, 2018
• Dwayne Morton paced the Gophers with 15 points while Steven Quintero (12 points), Gabe Ceribelli (11 points) and Cam Isaacs (10 points) also found double figures in the win

25th Anniversary Celebration

• This season marks the 25th Anniversary of the 1994-95 team that won the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament title and defeated the defending NCAA Division III National Champion Lebanon Valley for the college's first-ever NCAA Tournament win
• We will recount that season through social media posts and other events including guest coaches of the game
• Marc Cousins, who was a member of the 1993-94 CAC regular season and tournament team will serve as the guest coach for the home opener against Johns Hopkins in November 12
