Greyhounds Outlast Gophers 97-81

TOWSON, Md. - Visiting Moravian University pulled away from Goucher College in the second half for an 97-81 Landmark Conference men's basketball victory Wednesday night at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center.
- Moravian (4-2, 2-1 Landmark) opened up a 13-6 lead five minutes into the game.
- Goucher (1-7, 0-3) countered with an 18-2 run to go up nine, 24-15, on two Jaden Workman free throws with 10:17 left in the first half.
- The Greyhounds used a 14-3 spurt to reclaim the lead, 29-27, on a Taylor Perlmutter three with 6:04 left.
- Brian Griffin's layup at the 3:49 mark put the Gophers back in front, 33-32.
- The lead changed hands four times in the next 1:14, with a Jacob Morgan three giving Goucher a 38-36 lead.
- Moravian closed the half on a 9-2 run and took a 45-40 lead into the break.
- Just over a minute in a Can Dalli three cut the Moravian lead to 46-45.
- After the Greyhounds went up five, 50-45, Goucher cut the lead to two two more times, the second on a Griffin three with 14:35 to go.
- Eight straight Moravian points made it a 62-52 game with 12:30 on the clock.
- The guests opened up a 15-point cushion, 70-55, with 11:18 left, and took their largest lead, 92-67, with 2:10 left.
- Goucher was led by Griffin's 14 points off the bench as he was 6-11 from the floor and 2-4 from three.
- Morgan contributed 12 points off the bench on 5-8 shooting, while Jadyss Fifer was 6-9 from the field en route to 12 points.
- Workman was the fourth Gopher in double figures as he added 11.
- Jon Perry recorded eight points and grabbed six rebounds.
- Goucher shot 45.8% overall, 5-20 from three and 10-17 at the free throw line.
- Moravian, which outrebounded the Gophers 43-36, shot 48.4% overall, 11-29 from deep and 24-32 at the foul line.
- The game saw 10 lead changes and five ties.
- Goucher is back in action Saturday, hosting Scranton in a 4 pm contest at the Decker Sports and Recreation Center.
