Gophers Fall to Greyhounds in Conference Match-Up

Bethlehem, Pa.- Gophers returned to action, in a conference game, against the Greyhounds of Moravian University. Goucher (4-14 overall, 3-8 Landmark) traveled to Moravian (12-6 overall, 7-4 Landmark) in a competitive match-up that the Greyhounds came out on top of 100-84.
- The Greyhounds started the half with a 10 point scoring streak that was stopped by John Dixon.
- Darnell Morris Jr. chips at Moravian's lead with two back-to-back 3-point shots with (14:22) remaining.
- Gophers go on a scoring streak with 2-pointer by Chima Egeonu and Brian Griffin with (4:29) left in the half.
- Greyhounds keep their lead through the half 57-31.
- Egeonu starts the scoring in the half with a dunk in the first minute. Followed by a 2-pointer by Darrell Green.
- Green ends a two minute scoring stalemate with a layup followed by a 2-pointer from Jayden Saunders.
- Timi Akisanya completes a defensive rebound that leads to a 3-pointer by Griffin with (5:56) remaining.
- Moravian keeps their lead ending the game 100-84.
- Morris Jr. was the top scorer for the Gophers with 23 points and five rebounds.
- Green was the second top scorer with 13 points and six assists.
- The Gophers shot 48.4% overall, and went 11-20 beyond the arc. They forced 10 turnovers resulting in five points.
- The Greyhounds shot 49.3% overall, and went 16-36 beyond the arc. They forced 16 turnovers resulting in 24 points.
- Goucher is away on February 1st at Scranton in a conference match-up. The game will be at 2pm followed by the women's team at 4pm. Their next home contest will be on February 5th against Susquehanna. That conference game will be at 7pm.
