Conference Recognizes Sophomore Attackman, Senior Long Stick Midfielder

MADISON, N.J. — Goucher players were recipients of both of the weekly honors the Landmark Conference dished out today in the sport of men's lacrosse for March 8-14: sophomore attackman Rory Averett (Ivyland, Pa./Council Rock North) was chosen Offensive Player of the Week and senior long stick midfielder David Jadin (Chanhassen, Minn./The Blake School) was selected Defensive Player of the Week.

Averett supplied the Gophers with a pair of goals in a 10-8 victory over Gordon and tallied five more in a 12-4 triumph over Randolph-Macon, extending his personal goal-scoring streak to 20 games. He also picked up assists on two goals scored against the Yellow Jackets, giving him a two-game total of nine points.

In the same two games, Jadin was credited with 12 ground balls and two caused turnovers. After five games this season, he leads the team in ground balls with 24.

The Gophers (3-2) conclude a four-game homestand tomorrow afternoon when they take on New England at 3:00 on Beldon Field.
