Fourth Goucher Player to Surpass 200 Career Points
MADISON, N.J. — Matt Lynch (Ivyland, Pa./LaSalle College), who became the fourth player in the history of Goucher's men's lacrosse program to surpass 200 career points on Saturday — and the third to do it this season — today was recognized as the Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week in the Landmark Conference for April 16-22.
The senior midfielder went into Saturday's game against Scranton four points shy of the milestone, which he attained when he was awarded an assist on an extra-man goal by Sam Morgan (Wilmot, N.H./Kearsarge Regional) that put the Gophers ahead 7-1 early in the second quarter. He finished with five goals and a pair of assists, boosting his totals for the season to 29 goals and 28 assists.
His career totals: 111 goals and 92 assists for a grand total of 203 points.
Lynch has been recognized as an honorable mention Division III All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association the past two season.
