Junior GK Earns Landmark's Weekly Honor

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher's Karl Wiszumerski (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School) was selected Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week in the Landmark Conference today for March 24-30.

In just the ninth start of his career, the junior goalkeeper made eight saves and allowed only two goals while playing well into the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against Drew. He was also credited with three caused turnovers as the Gophers defeated the Rangers, 11-3.

By holding the last six opponents to eight or fewer goals, Wiszumerski has managed to lower his goals against average to 8.71.

With Saturday's victory, the Gophers improved to 34-4 all-time in Landmark Conference games.
