Sophomore Matt Woodson (Timonium, Md.) of the Goucher College men's lacrosse team tallied six points on the week (two goals and four assists), and for his efforts, he was named the Landmark Conference's Offensive Athlete of the Week for the period ending April 22 on Monday.
For Woodson, this marks the first time in his career at Goucher that he has been named the Landmark's Offensive Athlete of the Week.
Woodson kicked his week off on Wednesday, as he scored a goal with 2:25 left in regulation that turned out to be the game-winner for the Gophers in a thrilling 6-5 victory over Catholic at home. The win was the first for the Gophers over the Cardinals in over four seasons.
Then, on Saturday at Drew, Woodson matched a career-high with four assists and tallied another goal to lead the Gophers to a 9-5 win on the road, which improved Goucher's record on the year to 9-6 overall and 3-2 in the Landmark Conference.
Overall for the season, Woodson has scored 16 goals and added a team-best 24 assists. His 24 assists are also a Landmark Conference season-high, as well.
