Goucher Men's Lacrosse Set To Make 2019 Beldon Field Debut Against McDaniel On Wednesday

  • Goucher College suffered a heartbreaking 10-9 loss in overtime at Randolph-Macon on Saturday.
  • The Yellow Jackets scored six the final seven goals of the afternoon including tying the game at 9 with one second left in regulation. Randolph-Macon then scored the decisive tally with 3:07 left in overtime. The Gophers won the face off in the extra session, but a turnover gave the Yellow Jackets the ball and then the decisive tally.
  • Andrew Sade paced Goucher with four goals. 
  • Jeremy Buckler added a goal and a career-best two assists while Matt Woodson tallied a goal and an assist in the loss. 
  • Nick Patterson was 10-for-21 in face offs and had a team-high seven ground balls. Justin Lugo made 16 saves in the loss.­­­­­
  • The Green Terror comes into the game 0-2 on the year.
  • McDaniel will be playing its first road game of the season.
  • In their last game, the Green Terror lost to 14-8 to No. 7 York on Saturday.
  • Carson Marshall leads the scoring attack with one goal and six assists for seven points. Joey Conklin has a team-high seven ground balls along with two caused turnovers while three different goalkeepers have seen time in the net this season.
  • McDaniel is coached by Keith Euker, who is in his four season on the hill.
  • Andrew Sade, who has five goals on the year, notched his eighth multi-goal game of his career and his sixth contest with at least a hat trick. The four tallies match his career high set against Drew University on April 21, 2018 and against Moravian College on April 28, 2018.
  • Jeremy Buckler has notched a goal in back-to-back games for the third time in his career while posting his first multi assist game.
  • Matt Woodson has now registered a goal and an assist in consecutive games while he has registered a point in 19-straight contests.
  • Goucher looks to improve to 1-2 on the year for the third time under head coach Brian Kelly. The Gophers started 2013 and 2018 with that mark and made the playoffs. The squad also went 0-4 to start 2014 and advanced to the Landmark Conference Championship Game under Kelly.
  • The squad will be looking to register a home-opening win for the third-consecutive season.
  • Goucher travels to Lebanon Valley on Saturday.
  • Game time is 1 p.m.
