Flying Dutchmen Prevent Gophers from Wearing Crown
TOWSON, Md. — Elijah Lais (Grantsville, Md./Northern Garrett) scored twice — his team-leading third and fourth goals of the young season — but Goucher still came up short against Lebanon Valley tonight in the championship game of the Goucher College Soccer Classic at Beldon Field. The Flying Dutchmen captured the tournament title with a 4-2 victory over head coach Bryan Laut's Gophers.
Lais Earns All-Tournament Spot Along with Boyce, Bull

Goucher still came up short against Lebanon Valley tonight in the
championship game of the Goucher College Soccer Classic at Beldon
Field. The Flying Dutchmen captured the tournament title with a 4-2
victory over head coach Bryan Laut's Gophers.
Goucher was down 1-0 when Lais deposited a free kick into the net at 14:51, but the Flying Dutchmen (2-0) reclaimed the lead on a goal by Chris Hall at 24:21.
Goals by Kelly Hess at 51:02 and Andrew Cooper at 68:56 provided Lebanon Valley with a 4-1 advantage in the second half before senior forward Andrew Bull (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) picked up an assist on a goal by Lais with :03 remaining. The junior defender has recorded 11 points on four goals and three assists in the Gophers' first three games of the season.
The Gophers (2-1) were limited to seven shots the entire contest.
Goucher placed three players on the all-tournament team: Lais, Bull and junior defender Adam Boyce (Fallston, Md./Fallston).
