YORK, Pa. — Percy Moore, who remains the all-time leading scorer in the history of Goucher's men's soccer program 20 years after playing the final game of his collegiate career, was among the 25 players named today to the Capital Athletic Conference's Silver Anniversary Men's Soccer Team.
The CAC, which accepted Goucher as a member in 1991, is in the early stages of its 25th year of intercollegiate varsity competition, and to recognize the occasion, it plans to announce a Silver Anniversary Team in 19 championship sports over the course of the 2014-15 academic year. Each Silver Anniversary Team will feature 25 former or current standout student-athletes and the process which determined the make-up of the teams was primarily based on season-ending conference awards as voted by the conference's head coaches.
Moore, one of four Goucher players ever to score four goals in a game and one of only two to tally 16 goals in a season, finished his career (1991-94) with 54 goals. Nobody else in program history has more than 36 goals to his credit.
His 54 career goals was also tops in CAC history until Ryan Olsen racked up 67 goals during his four seasons (1998-2001) at St. Mary's (Md.).
A first-team All-CAC selection all four seasons, Moore is also Goucher's all-time leader in career points (133) and ranks second in career assists (25).
Moore currently serves on the college's Board of Trustees.
Goucher remained a member of the CAC for 16 years before leaving to join the Landmark Conference in 2007.
