Gilley Named A Landmark Conference Men's Soccer Athlete Of The Week

BALTIMORE, Md. – Matt Gilley (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point), a member of the Goucher College men's soccer team, has been named a Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week.

With the unprecedented cancellation of an official fall sports season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Landmark will recognize an athlete from each member institution in each conference-sponsored fall sport for the remainder of the academic year. Honorees were nominated for recognition by their respective institutions.

Gilley appeared in 52 games, including eight starts in his three seasons in Baltimore. He dished out an assist on the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win against Gwynedd Mercy on September 8, 2017.

The senior appeared in a career-high 18 matches with six starts in 2019 and registered an assist against Gwynedd Mercy in a 5-2 victory on October 29, 2019, for his second collegiate point.

The Landmark Conference will also honor seniors from field hockey (Mickey Nelson), women's soccer (March 26), cross country (April 1), and women's volleyball (April 2).
