ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Goucher College men's soccer team scored a pair of second half goals to cut a 3-0 halftime deficit to 3-2, but host Elizabethtown College prevailed by that 3-2 score Saturday afternoon in Landmark Conference play at Herr Field.
- Goucher (5-8-3, 1-6-1 Landmark) goalie Ale Sternini made his first save at the 11-minute mark.
- In the 21st minute, Harryson Jean had a shot turned aside by Elizabethtown (6-7-3, 4-3-1) keeper Pedro Miranda.
- Just over four minutes later, the Blue Jays took a 1-0 lead on Manny Velazquez's goal.
- In the 36th minute, AJ Sasso doubled Etown's lead.
- 4:05 before halftime, Caba Alvarez scored to make it 3-0.
- Andres Aristimuno put a shot on Miranda three minutes into the second half that was saved.
- Sternini made two saves in a three-minute span, the second coming in the 52nd minute.
- Jonathan Alvarado had a shot saved with just under 33 minutes left.
- Goucher got on the board with just over 23 minutes to go. A free kick from the left side by Jean to the far right post glanced off a Blue Jay defender and in.
- Etown rang two shots off the crossbar in the 71st and 73rd minutes.
- Aristimuno had another shot saved with just over 13 minutes left.
- With five minutes to go, Miranda stopped a shot by Gustave Dalzell.
- Aristimuno scored with 3:39 on the clock to cut the lead to 3-2, with Michael Adekanmbi recording an assist.
- Dalzell had Goucher's last shot of the game 30 seconds later.
- Elizabethtown held a 23-12 shot advantage and took seven corner kicks to Goucher's three.
- Sternini made four saves, while Miranda recorded five stops.
