WESTMINSTER, MD - The Goucher College men's soccer team (3-2-2) traveled to face the Green Terror of McDaniel College (6-0-0). A pair of second half goals gave the Green Terror the win for the team to remain undefeated.
The game began slow, until McDaniel notched two shots in the span of 40 seconds. However, the offense turned when senior, Andres Aristimuno finished his first goal of the season off an assist from first year, Declan Ritchotte (16:59). Outside of this goal, Goucher only notched one other shot in the first half.
The Gophers held McDaniel scoreless in the first half, despite the nine shots on net that required four saves from Ale Sternini.
First year, Bryan Machado, began the second half with a shot for Goucher to try and add to their lead at the half. The game was quiet, with the team trading shots, until a McDaniel goal at 78:20. The game remained tied and evenly matched when Rodriquez from the Green Terror put one past Sternini with less than two minutes left in the game. This gave McDaniel the 2-1 win.
The Green Terror outshot the Gophers 15-7, earning eight corner kicks in the competition. Sternini recorded six saves in the 90 minutes of play. Machado led the Gophers with two shots in the competition.
