Sea Gulls Pin 109-52 Setback on GophersHolbrook Produces Fastest Time in 500 Free

TOWSON, MD — Goucher's Wells Holbrook
(Knoxville, TN/Knox West) was the top performer in the
500-yard freestyle today as the Gophers (0-8) were suffering a
109-52 loss to Salisbury in their final meet of the season.
Holbrook's winning time in the 500 free was 5:21.62. The senior also posted Goucher's best times in two other individual events as he placed third in the 200 free (1:58.04) and fourth in the 100 free (:53.97).
Goucher's only other first-place performances were in the 100 breaststroke, where Michael Polonchak (Harpers Ferry, WV/home school) was clocked at 1:12.67), and the 200 free relay.
The Gophers are off now until the Capital Athletic Conference Championships, which begin Feb. 9 in St. Mary's City, Md.
