Gophers Beat Out Pacers, Rangers for Fifth Place

The Gophers finished 24 points ahead of the Pacers and 134 points in front of the Rangers.
On the final day of the three-day meet, two Goucher swimmers advanced to the championship finals in the 200-yard backstroke. Matthew Brower (Staten Island, N.Y./Curtis) completed the event in 1:57.71 to finish in fourth place and Kyle Williams (Andover, N.J./Newton) followed in 2:00.77, good for sixth place.
Brendan McFadden (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) claimed 10th place in the 100-yard freestyle by posting a time of :48.98. Dean Silverman (Chappaqua, N.Y./Horace Greeley) took 14th place in the 1650 free (18:32.77) and Patrick McNeel (Flagstaff, Ariz./Flagstaff) was 15th in the 200 butterfly (2:13.94).
Goucher's entry in the 400 free relay consisting of Charlie Leonard (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville), Brower, McFadden and Williams was clocked at 3:19.69 and earned 28 points by finishing in fifth place.
