Goucher Men's Swim Team Battles in Tri-Meet at Elizabethtown
ELIZABETHTOWN, PA – The Goucher College men's swim team traveled to Landmark Conference opponent Elizabethtown College on Friday evening for a tri-meet against the Blue Jays and Immaculata University. The Gophers fell to the Mighty Macs, 110-81, and to the Blue Jays, 182-48.
The meet opened with a strong performance from the 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Ben Graff, Yi Yue, Josh Contreras, and Olivia Barnes, who secured a third-place finish with a time of 1:57.59.
Barnes added another third-place finish in the 1000 Yard Freestyle, finishing 15 seconds ahead of the next swimmer. Yue narrowly missed the podium in the 200 Yard Freestyle, placing fourth with a time of 2:07.62.
Graff led the way for the Gophers, capturing first place in the 100 Yard Butterfly (58.28) and again in the 50 Yard Butterfly (25.50), finishing more than a second ahead of the runner-up.
In the 50 Yard Freestyle, Yakhani Dlamini and Aiden Grimm finished back-to-back, with Dlamini taking fourth (25.10) and Grimm placing fifth, just 0.20 seconds behind. Contreras and Grimm also finished less than a second apart in the 100 Yard Backstroke.
Goucher will host Wilkes University on Saturday, November 15 at 1pm in the Von Borries Aquatic Center.
