Gophers Ring in Day Three of Conference Championships
BALTIMORE, MD - The Goucher College men's swim team took on day three of the Landmark Conference Championships on the campus of Loyola University Maryland. After today, the men sit in 10th with a score of 50.
Three Gopher men opened the day of competition in the 100 Yard Butterfly Preliminaries, with Ben Graff falling in 21st overall with a time of 56.33, tying with a swimmer from Lycoming. Teammate Josh Contreras followed closely behind, finishing just 0.55 seconds after Graff. To round out the race, Christian Houck finished with a time of 1:12.97.
Later on, in the 100 Yard Breaststroke Preliminaries, Yi Yue finished with a time of 1:07.28 to finish 24th overall. Aiden Grimm earned a 20th-place finish in the 100 Yard Backstroke Preliminaries, finishing with a time of 1:01.87.
To round out the evening for the men, the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team, consisting of Yue, Grimm, Contreras, and Graff, finished 9th (1:36.23).
The Gophers will head back to the Mangione Aquatic Center for the final day of the Landmark Conference Championships tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 15th.
