Goucher Men downed by Catholic Cardinals

WASHINGTON, DC -The Gophers fell to the top team in the conference as Catholic University took all 11 -1st place finishes.  Top Performances from the Goucher Men included:

·         David Merworth (Fort Worth, TX), Jacy MacConvery (Lilburn, GA), Jerel McCord (Ft. Wayne, IN), Blake Rhodes (Saint Charles, MO) finished 3rd in the 200 Medley Relay (1:49.00).

·         Senior Ben Shriner (Arlington, MA), swam well enough to earn 2nd place in 1000 Free (11:32.61).

·         Merworth added another top swim grabbing 2nd in the 200 Free (1:57.90).

·         Rhodes was runner-up in the 50 Freestyle today (:23.92).

·     Jerel McCord (Ft. Wayne, IN) finished to the wall 2nd in the 100 Fly (:56.83).

·    Rhodes's efforts in the 100 Free (:52.23) were good for third place. 

·         Merworth swam to 1st in the 200 Back (2:30.13) and Hughes finished close behind with a 3rd place (2:39.07).

·         Shriner's solid effort was good enough for 3rd in the 500 Free (5.39.46).

The Gophers are off until January 14th when they host conference opponent Marywood University at 1pm.
