ITA Recognizes Seven from Goucher for Academics  

Must Achieve GPA of 3.50 or Higher During Academic Year

SKILLMAN, N.J. - Seven tennis players from Goucher are being recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for their academic accomplishments, the governing body of collegiate tennis announced today.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letterwinner, 2.) achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or higher during the academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.

From Goucher's men's tennis program, Chris Covey (Exeter, NH/Exeter) and Franklin Russell (Freeport, ME/Freeport) were named 2007 ITA Scholar-Athletes. The following five members of Goucher's women's tennis team in 2006-07 earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status: Mouna Attarha (Piedmont, CA/Piedmont), Stephanie Austin (Woodbridge, CT/Amity Regional), Dana Clark (Oxford, MI/Sacred Heart), Sally Gordon (Onancock, VA/Broadwater Academy) and Katie Shaw (Albuquerque, NM/Bosque School).
