SALISBURY, MD — The most competitive singles match
was at No. 2 today in Goucher's 9-0 loss to Salisbury.
The Gophers (0-2) were unable to win a a single set in singles
play, but at No. 2, Andrew Ortiz (Silver Spring,
MD/Gonzaga) presented a challenge to Brendan Kincaid, who
pulled out a 7-5, 6-3 victory. At No. 1, Salisbury's Matt Nicholson
defeated Wynn Thane (Chambersburg, PA/Mercersburg
Academy) 6-1, 6-2.
Kincaid and Nicholson were 8-1 winners over Ortiz and Thane at No.
1 doubles.
