Landmark Goes With Fujitani as Week's Top Player

TOWSON, Md. — A sophomore who extended his winning streak in singles play to five matches when he was victorious at No. 4 during Goucher's 7-2 triumph over Moravian on Saturday was named Men's Tennis Player of the Week in the Landmark Conference today for the seven-day period which ended Sunday.

In addition to earning a point for the Gophers with his 6-0, 6-3 win over Dan Schmucker, Midori Fujitani (Tokyo, Japan/International School Bangkok) partnered with Jack Hodges (London, England/Shrewsbury School) to defeat Lewis Cooper and Giovanni Lombardi, 8-5, at second doubles in Saturday's match between the two teams which shared first place in the Landmark Conference.

Fujitani, who is 6-2 at No. 4 and 12-5 overall in singles competition this season, is the fourth member of head coach Brendan Kincaid's squad to receive the weekly honor from the Landmark Conference in 2014-15.
