The Goucher College men's tennis team is predicted to once again capture the Landmark Conference title, as the Gophers come in first in the 2018 Landmark Preseason Poll, which was released by the conference office on Wednesday morning.
Goucher - who won the Landmark title in each of the last two seasons - sit atop the preseason poll with 64 total points and six first-place votes. In second is Scranton with 56 total points and a first-place vote, followed by Juniata with 48 points and the last first-place vote.
Rounding out the poll is Drew (38 points), Elizabethtown (24 points), Catholic (16 points), and Moravian/Susquehanna (12 points, each).

Goucher, who finished last season with a 15-11 overall mark, return the core of their starting line-up in both singles and doubles, as five of their six starters are back from a season ago.
Leading the group of returnees for fifth-year head coach Brendan Kincaid is senior Jack Hodges (London, England), who went 13-10 last season in singles play primarily in the number one spot on the line-up. A two-time All-Landmark Conference selection in his first-year and sophomore seasons, Hodges also won 13 matches in doubles a season ago, as well.
In the Fall portion of their schedule, Goucher picked up right where they left off a season ago, going 5-0 in dual matches. Meanwhile, first-year Tetsuya Ota (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) advanced to the round of 16 in the Championship Singles flight – the furthest any Gopher has gone in the flight under Kincaid.
Goucher will pick up their Spring schedule on Feb. 24, as they head to Salisbury to take on the host Seagulls, Bridgewater and Virginia Wesleyan (on Feb. 25). A busy slate then awaits the team in March, as they will play 11 non-conference matches before opening Landmark play on the 31st at Susquehanna.
In April, Landmark Conference play continues, with the Gophers hosting Juniata (Apr. 14), Elizabethtown (Apr. 21), and Moravian (Apr. 22).
