Dumas Has The Wright Stuff At No. 3 Singles Against The College Of New Jersey

EWING, N.J. – Slade Dumas (Great Falls, Va./Dominion) earned a win at No. 3 singles against No. 40 College of New Jersey in non-conference men's tennis action on Sunday.

Dumas lost the first set 6-1, but then recovered to earn a 6-4 win in the second set to force a third set where the senior edged the Lions No. 3 player Thomas Wright 11-9 to earn a singles victory against a nationally-ranked opponent. Dumas, who is now 3-1 on the year, has moved into a tie with Tim Hannigan (1997-01) for fourth place on the program's all-time career singles win list with 59 victories.

Michael Herman (Prague, Czech Republic/Gymnazium Nova Porg)  took his No. 2 singles match to a second-set tiebreaker before falling 6-1, 7-6 (7-5). Coming off his big win against the No. 14 player in the country, Tetsuya Ota (Wesley Chapel, Fla./Saddlebrook Prep) fell 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
