Goucher Sweeps Etown to Secure First Landmark Victory of the Season

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Goucher College Gophers (3-3 Overall; 1-0 Conference) secured a 7-0 victory over Elizabethtown College (1-5 Overall; 0-5 Conference). This tallies the first Landmark win of the new season for the men.
- The Gophers were able to sweep doubles to earn the point.
- In the No. 1 doubles, Benedikt Rummel and Gabe Naftoly pulled a 6-0 victory.
- George King and Guilherme Moraes recorded the No. 2 doubles win, 6-2.
- The pairing of Jackson Beam and Tadeo Asprella added the final victory in the No. 3 doubles, holding the Blue Jays scoreless at 6-0.
- Naftoly faced a hard-fought win in the No. 1 singles match. After dropping the first set, he was able to rally back and win the next two; 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
- Asprella won in straight sets 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 2 singles match.
- In the No. 3 singles, Rummel held his opponent scoreless in the second set, winning 6-2, 6-0.
- Moraes only let up one game to his opponent (6-1; 6-0) in the No. 4 singles.
- In a 6-2 and 6-3 match, King secured his win in tthe No. 5 singles.
- Beam rounded out the single victories, holding his opponent to two games in a 6-2, 6-0 match.
- This marks the mens first victory in the Landmark Conference for the 2024-2025 season.
- In the No. 1 doubles, Rummel and Naftoly recorded their third win as a pair.

- The men return for their first home meet of the season to face Messiah at 4pm on Monday, March 4th.
