Landmark Conference Names Asprella as Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year Finalist
TOWSON, MD – Goucher College men's tennis student-athlete Tadeo Asprella has been named a finalist for the Landmark Conference Male Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, an honor recognizing graduating seniors who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in academics, athletics, leadership, and community service throughout their collegiate careers. The league's overall Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be selected from four finalists and submitted for consideration for the Division III Commissioners Association (DIIICA) National Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Asprella graduated with a 4.0 grade point average as an economics and business management major while helping lead the Gophers through one of the most successful stretches in program history. Goucher made four straight Landmark Conference Championship appearances during his career, capturing conference titles in 2024 and 2025 after finishing as runner-up in 2023 and 2026. He became the first Goucher student-athlete this academic year to earn Senior Scholar-Athlete recognition, the second straight men's tennis student-athlete from Goucher to receive the honor, and the sixth overall in program history.
On the court, Asprella earned three straight All-Conference singles selections, with honorable mention recognition in 2023-24 before earning First Team honors in 2024-25 and Second Team recognition in 2025-26.
In the classroom, he was a three-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selection and earned Goucher's Scholar-Athlete Award in 2024-25. He is also a member of Chi Alpha Sigma.
Asprella also served in leadership and service roles throughout his career, including work as a summer camp counselor and tennis coach for youth ages 8–17. Professionally, he gained experience as a Client Associate Intern while contributing to campus life as an Arsht Presidential Diplomat, student technician, and Spanish tutor.
The overall Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be announced on Wednesday, July 8.
