Bio
Debbie Holtschneider was named head coach of the Goucher men's and women's tennis programs in November 2024.
Holtschneider's first season with the Gophers men’s team was very successful. She led the team to a Landmark Conference championship and a victory in the first round of the NCAA National Championships. Holtschneider coached two All-Landmark First Team Singles players, a First Team Doubles pair, a Second Team Singles player, and the Landmark Conference Player of the Year.
Holtschneider’s first season with the women’s team was strong. She coached the team to their best regular season, finishing in second place in the Landmark Conference. The women Gophers advanced to the semi-finals of the Landmark Conference tournament. Holtschneider coached two All-Landmark Second Team Singles players and a Second Team Doubles pair.
In addition to success on the courts, the men’s tennis team received ITA All-Academic Team honors. Seven players received ITA Scholar-Athlete Awards.
Prior to joining Goucher, Holtschneider spent two years as the head coach of the men’s and women’s tennis teams at Harford Community College. She led the men’s team to back-to-back national championship appearances, with her final team earning a national top ten finish.
Prior to Harford Community College, Holtschneider spent one year as the assistant coach of the Towson University women’s tennis team. She helped coach the team to 13 wins that season.
Holtschneider was ranked in the top ten of Maryland women tennis players and has served as the head pro for Pine Valley Swim and Tennis Club.
A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Holtschneider graduated with a degree in Health & Wellness from Lander University, where she played singles and doubles on the women’s tennis team.
