Litz Clears 14-6 for First Place in Pole Vault

Goucher's DMR Turns In Time of 12:33.15, Good for Fifth Place

CARLISLE, Pa. — Goucher's Chris Litz (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) was the top performer in the pole vault at the DuCharme Invitational today.

By the time the bar was raised to 14-feet, only four of the original 17 entrants in the competition were still alive. Chris DiGangi from Hood, Kale Mullikin from Penn St. Berks and Andrew Todd from Keystone all went out at 14-feet, setting the stage for Litz to take first place when he cleared 14-feet, 6-inches.

In the distance medley relay, Goucher's entry of Nick Manta (North Wales, Pa./Abington Friends School), Georgi Shalamanov (Velingrad, Bulgaria/St. St. Kiril & Metodi), Andrew Gethins (Yorktown, N.Y./Lakeland) and Brian Gautier (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat Twp.) placed fifth overall with its time of 12:33.15.

Will Evans III (Baltimore, Md./Overlea) made the finals in the 55-meter dash and placed eighth overall with his time of :06.71.

With the 15 points the Gophers earned in three events, they finished in 15th place in the team scoring.
