Litz Finishes at Top Division III Entrant in Pole Vault Competition

PRINCETON, N.J. — The all-time fastest times in the history of Goucher's men's indoor track and field program in three events were bested today at the New Year's Invitational.

Two of the new records set today were by sophomore Will Evans III (Baltimore, Md./Overlea). One was in the 60-meter dash where he placed 11th overall with a time of :07.24, breaking Wu Bamiduro's standard of :07.47 established back in February 2002.

Evans also ran the fastest 300 meters indoor in school history by crossing the finish line in :37.24, good for 22nd place. The former record of :37.56 was set in February 2000 by Will Morrison.

The third record to fall today was in the 600 meters where freshman Brian Gautier (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat Twp.) placed 32nd overall with his time of 1:29.15. The former standard of 1:37.07 belonged to Brendan Ference and has been in the record book since February 2007.

Senior Chris Litz (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) was the top Division III entrant and finished in a tie for eighth place overall in the pole vault competition by successfully clearing 14-feet, 9-inches.
