Kosh Breaks Krumpelbeck's Indoor Shot Put Record
SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Goucher's Doug Falk (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat Twp.) successfully cleared 6' to finish in first place in the high jump competition at today's Susquehanna Invitational.
Falk and McDaniel's Woody Butler were the only two contestants out of the original nine who were entered in the event to clear 6', but the sophomore was awarded first place based on fewer attempts.
Troy Browne (Springdale, Md./C.H. Flowers) represeted Goucher in the 800-meter run and registered a time of 2:04.95, good for fourth place.
Lovell Kosh (Chester, Pa./Christiana) became the first athlete in the history of Goucher's indoor track and field program to surpass 40' in the shot put. The senior's top effort of 40'1.5" landed him in ninth place and broke the indoor school record of 39'11.25" established by Steve Krumpelbeck in 2006.
Goucher's entry of Manuel Carranza (Silver Spring, Md./Wheaton), Zachary Byrum (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point), Falk and Browne was clocked at 3:40.09 in the 4 x 400-meter relay and finished in fourth place.
