Junior Picks Up Eight Points as Gophers Finish in 16th Place

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — Will Evans III (Baltimore, Md./Overlea) accounted for all eight points Goucher scored today at the Bow Tie Classic.

The junior picked up six points for the Gophers by placing sixth in the 60-meter dash and the remaining two points for finishing in eighth place in the 200-meter dash. His time of :07.26 in the 60 is the second-fastest in that event in the history of Goucher's indoor track and field program and only 2-hundredths of a second off of his own school record.

Evans completed the 200 in :23.66 and that is also the second-fastest time in program history in that event.

Manuel Carranza (Silver Spring, Md./Wheaton) placed 10th in the 400-meter run and his time of :54.60 has been bettered only three times by a Goucher male runner.

The Gophers placed 16th in the final team scoring.
