Evans Completes 60 Dash in 7.24 Seconds, Fifth Place

Gophers Finish in Tie with Immaculata for 14th Place

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — Goucher scored points in one individual event and two of the relays at today's Frank Colden Invitational.

The Gophers finished with seven points to tie Immaculata for 14th place in the team scoring. The only other Landmark Conference school to compete in the meet was Catholic, which placed 10th overall with 11 points.

Four of Goucher's points were earned by Will Evans III (Baltimore, Md./Overlea) in the 60-meter dash. He placed fifth in the event with his time of 7.24 seconds, which matches the third-fastest 60-meter dash time in the history of the school's indoor track and field program.

In the 4 x 200-meter relay, the entry of Zachary Byrum (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point), E.J. Abdul-Raheem (Windsor Mill, Md./Arlington Baptist), Ben Crosby (Nashville, Tenn./Concord) and Evans took seventh place by turning in a time of 1:41.65. In the 4 x 400-meter relay, the foursome of Byrum, Nick Manta (North Wales, Pa./Abington Friends School), Gillian Ziegler (Chestnut Ridge, N.Y./Green Meadow Waldorf) and
Isaac Jennings (
Narberth, Pa./Harriton) was clocked at 3:57.62, good for eighth place.
