SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Goucher's 4 x 400-meter relay earned all-conference honors with its second-place finish today at the inaugural Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The 4 x 400 unit composed of Tade Ade-Turton (Ocean City, MD/Parkside), Steven Tenure (Sudbury, MA/Lincoln-Sudbury), Brendan Ference (Smallwood, NY/Monticello) and Charlie Rooney (Sea Bright, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) also set a new indoor school record with its time of3:38.98.
Two members of the 4 x 400 also broke indoor school records in other events: Ade-Turton in the 200-meter dash where his time of :23.72 allowed him to finish in sixth place and earn points for the Gophers, and Rooney in the 400-meter run where he placed ninth overall (:54.59).
Goucher earned points in two other relay events thanks to fifth-place performances by its 4 x 200-meter (1:39.84) and distance medley (12:01.52) squads.
The team title went to Moravian, which accumulated 213 points during the meet. Susquehanna placed second with 129 points, followed by Juniata (72 points) in third, Merchant Marine (29) and Catholic (29) tied for fourth and Goucher (13) in sixth.
