BALTIMORE, Md. – Goucher's Scott Wenzler (Larchmont,
N.Y./Mamaroneck) was the top performer in the long jump
and runner-up in the high jump at today's Baltimore Metro
Invitational.
Wenzler took first place in the long jump with an effort of 19-feet, 1.25-inches and the sophomore's performance of 5-feet, 6-inches that netted him second place in the high jump tied the school record in that event.
Chris Litz (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) also tied a school record today and, like Wenzler, did it in an event in which he placed second. For Litz, it was in the pole vault and he did it by successfully clearing 13-feet.
Tade Ade-Turton (Ocean City, Md./Parkside) was runner-up in the 100-meter dash as he crossed the finish line in :11.87, one-hundredth of a second behind Jonny Walker from Johns Hopkins.
Adam Scipione (Walpole, Mass./Walpole) placed third in the 800-meter run with his time of 2:05.95 and Goucher's entry of Charlie Rooney (Sea Bright, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy), Ade-Turton, Scipione and Wenzler completed the 4 x 400-meter relay in 3:47.11, good for third place.
There was no team scoring.
