Litz Clears 13-11 3/4 for First Place in Pole Vault

Kosh Beats Out Renehan for Fourth Place in Hammer Throw

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Goucher's Chris Litz (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) took top honors in the pole vault competition today at the Battleground Relays.

In the only first-place performance for the Gophers at the two-day event, the senior successfully cleared 13-feet, 11.75-inches.

Doug Falk (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat Twp.) finished in a tie for third place in the high jump as he cleared 5-feet, 8-inches. Lovell Kosh (Chester, Pa./Christiana) and Mark Renehan (Finksburg, Md./Westminster) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the hammer throw. Kosh turned in a throw of 106-feet, 2-inches; Renahan's best effort in the event was 101-feet, 10-inches.

Goucher's entry in the 4 x 800-meter relay consisting of Adam Scipione (Walpole, Mass./Walpole), Brian Gautier (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat Twp.), Nick Manta (North Wales, Pa./Abington Friends School) and Troy Browne (Springdale, Md./C.H. Flowers) took seventh place and broke the outdoor school record with its time of 8:33.62 in the 4 x 800-meter relay.
