Gophers Score in Six Events, Finish in Seventh Place

Browne, Scipione Finish 3-4 in 800, Earning Combined Total of 11 Points
GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Goucher scored points in six events and finished in seventh place with a team score of 25 points at the Mason-Dixon Invitational today.
The Gophers picked up 11 of their points in the 800-meter run where Troy Browne (Springdale, Md./C.H. Flowers) placed third and Adam Scipione (Walpole, Mass./Walpole) among the 21 collegiate runners in the event. Browne crossed the finish line in 2:01.88 and Scipione in 2:02.54.
Lovell Kosh (Chester, Pa./Christiana) and Nick Manta (North Wales, Pa./Abington Friends School) secured secured four points apiece with fifth-place performances in the hammer throw and 3,000-meter steeplechase, respectively. Kosh achieved a throw of 108'4" in his event, while Manta was clocked at 11:06.68 in the steeplechase.
Goucher's entry consisting of Brian Gautier (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat Twp.), Doug Falk (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat Twp.), Chris Litz (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) and Will Evans III (Baltimore, Md./Overlea) placed sixth in the 4 x 100-meter relay (:47.03).
Gautier also placed seventh in the 400-meter dash (:53.06) and Andrew Gethins (Yorktown, N.Y./Lakeland) was eighth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:14.98).
