Falk, Litz Finish on Top in High Jump, Pole Vault

Fourth-Place Performances: Gautier in 400 Dash, Gethins in 400 Hurdles

WESTMINSTER, Md. — Goucher produced the first-place performer in both the high jump and pole vault competitions today at the McDaniel Twilight Invitational II.

Freshman Doug Falk (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat Twp.) took top honors among the four competitors in the high jump thanks to his effort of 6'. In the pole vault, senior Chris Litz (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) successfully cleared 13', which was two feet above the height achieved by the runner-up, Steven Powell from Hood.

Falk and Litz secured 10 points apiece for Goucher for winning an event.

The Gophers also obtained points from freshman Brian Gautier (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat Twp.) and junior Andrew Gethins (Yorktown, N.Y./Lakeland). Gautier earned four points for placing fourth in the 400-meter dash (:51.65) and Gethins also picked up four points for finishing fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:07.53).

With a team score of 28 points, the Gophers wound up in fifth place.
