Gophers Earn 24 Points at Goucher T&F Classic

Isaac Jennings (Narberth, Pa./Harriton) led the Gophers with a pair of top-three finishes. He began his day with a third-place result in the 1,500 meters, with his time of 4:18.43 earning six points for Goucher. Jennings then grabbed another six points with his third-place showing in the 800 meters. He completed the race in 2:04.45, finishing less than four-tenths of a second behind Charles Acevedo from Montgomery College.
Senior Doug Falk (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat), competing in the final home meet of his career, picked up eight points after his second-place finish in the high jump. Falk's top jump of 1.78 meters was one-tenth behind champion Xavier Stinson from Salisbury.
Hugh Geller (Devens, Mass./Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School), also participating in his last home race, tallied the final four points for the Gophers after placing fifth in the 5,000 meters. Geller completed the event in 17:05.71.
Troy Browne (Springdale, Md./C.H. Flowers) rounded out Goucher's three-man senior class, racing to a 15th-place result in the 400 meter dash.
Salisbury cruised to a convincing victory at the 11-team meet. The Sea Gulls, aided by 11 event victories, finished with a total of 275 points. Montgomery College followed in second place with 111 points.
The Gophers return to action on Saturday, April 12 at the Messiah Invitational in Grantham, Pa.
