Gophers Accumulate 23 Points for Fifth-Place Finish

The third-place finish was by Liam Lanahan (Corvallis, Ore./Crescent Valley) in the 3,000-meter run. He completed the event in 10:31.68.
Christian Ribeiro (Silver Spring, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) placed fifth overall in the hammer throw with an effort of 20.88 meters (68'6").
Elton Kativhu (Harare, Zimbabwe/St. Ignatius College) posted a time of 11.64 seconds in the 100-meter dash and Zachary Byrum (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) was clocked at 54.70 seconds in the 400-meter dash, both good for six place.
Goucher's entry of Byrum, Eli Schwartz (Berkeley, Calif./Berkeley), Ribeiro and Kativhu placed third (:49.19) behind Stevenson (:45.13) and Gallaudet (:46.19) in the 4 x 100-meter relay.
Goucher wound up in fifth place in the final team standings with a score of 23 points.
One week from today, the Gophers return to action at the Messiah Invitational.
