Kativhu Earns Top 10 Result in 100 Meter Dash

GRANTHAM, Pa. — Elton Kativhu (Harare, Zimbabwe/St. Ignatius College) set personal bests in each of his two races to lead the Goucher men at today's Messiah Invitational.

Kativhu's top result came in the 100 meter dash, where he crossed the line in 11.43 to place 10th out of 66 runners overall. That time is the sixth fastest registered among Landmark runners so far this season. Kativhu also registered a new PR in the 200 dash. His time of 23.65 was good enough for 27th place out of 77 total competitors.

Eli Schwartz (Berkeley, Calif./Berkeley), competing in the 400 hurdles for the first time in his Gopher career, finished 23rd after completing the race in 1:12.13.

Goucher has two more meets scheduled prior to this year's Landmark Outdoor Championships on May 2-3. The first of those meets, the Mason-Dixon Invitational, will take place next Saturday in Gettysburg, Pa.
