WESTMINSTER, Md. — Three new personal best times were established by Goucher at the McDaniel Twilight Meet tonight in the team's final competition prior to the Landmark Championships.
Liam Lanahan (Corvallis, Ore./Crescent Valley) and Eli Schwartz (Berkeley, Calif./Berkeley) lowered PRs on the track, while Christian Ribeiro (Silver Spring, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) registered a throw in the discus that was over a meter further than his previous past distance.
Lanahan's time of 4:34.21 earned him a fourth place showing in the 1500 meter run, and it was over two seconds faster than the 4:36.37 result that he registered at the Gallaudet Invitational on March 28. Schwartz, meanwhile, was the only runner in the 400 meter hurdles, but that did not stop him from taking nearly three seconds off his PR in the event. He clocked in at 1:09.39.
Ribeiro placed 11th in the discus with his top throw of 23.99 meters.
Elton Kativhu (Harare, Zimbabwe/St. Ignatius College) also ran in the sprints tonight for the Gophers. He crossed the line in 11.90 in the 100 dash, placing him third out of seven runners, and he finished in the 200 dash with a time of 24.87.
There was no team scoring at tonight's meet.
Goucher now has 10 days off before the two-day Landmark Outdoor Championships begin at Susquehanna on May 2. A full meet schedule for the championships can be found here.
