TOWSON, Md. — Two days after breaking the outdoor school record in the 110-meter high hurdles, Goucher's Miles Taylor (Bowie, Md./Wakefield) was named the Men's Track & Field Male Track Athlete of the Week in the Landmark Conference today.
Taylor, a freshman, placed second in the event on Saturday at the Bobcat Invitational. He was clocked at 16.59 seconds and finished 68-hundredths of a second behind Matthew Pride from Pitt-Johnstown. The record that he eclipsed of :16.69 was established by Greg Rabus back in 2002.
Taylor also competed in the 400-meter hurdles, placing seventh in that event (1:04.24), and ran of leg on Goucher's entries in both the 4 x 100-meter and 4 x 400-meter relays. In the 4 x 100, the Gophers took fourth place (:47.20); in the 4 x 400, they wound up in sixth place (3:43.40).
