Taylor Tops Own Record at Mason-Dixon Invite
GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Two weeks ago to this day, Miles Taylor (Bowie, Md./Wakefield) broke a 14-year-old hurdles record. Today at the Mason-Dixon Invitational, Taylor topped his record-setting time of :16.59 with a :16.20 mark, good for a fifth place finish and the new program record, in the 110-meter hurdles.

GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Two weeks ago, Miles Taylor (Bowie, Md./Wakefield) broke a 14-year-old hurdles record. Today at the Mason-Dixon Invitational, Taylor topped his record-setting time of :16.59 with a :16.20 finish, good for fifth place in the meet and the new program record, in the 110-meter hurdles.
- Taylor's teammate, Ayinde Gittens-Smith (Laurel, Md./Fork Union Military Academy), impressed many as he finished third in the high jump with a mark of 1.83 meters, six-feet even.
- The entry of Eli Schwartz (Berkeley, Calif./Berkeley), Elton Kativhu (Harare, Zimbabwe/St. Ignatius College), Taylor and Gittens-Smith in the 4 x 100-meter relay placed eighth (:46.17).
- Goucher earned 13 points, good for an overall finish of 15th at today's meet.
A week from today, the Gophers conclude their regular season in Baltimore, Md. as the team competes in the Morgan State Legacy.
