Men's Track & Field Takes On Widener

CHESTER, PA -The Goucher College Gophers hit the road to compete at Widener University for the second day of the Schuylkill Showcase. The team earned multiple personal bests while also adding multiple top 30 finishes.
Antoine Padonou was the first Gopher to hit a personal best in the men's 60-meter hurdles, after finishing top 20 with a time of 9.55. Another top 20 finish for the men was Jayden Keels in the 800 with a time of 2:01.81. In the 800-meter, the team had two finishers in the top 30, with Jair Smith in the top 25 with a time of 2:03.09, followed by Willie Lamb with a time of 2:05.86. Jermaine Horsey and Joel Lukoo added top 35 finishes, with Horsey competing in the 200-meter run (23.81) and Lukoo in the 400-meter run (53.58). Rounding out the day for the track events was the 4x400 team, consisting of Lukoo, Mark Martin, Smith, and Lamb, who finished in the top 20 with a time of 3:39.58.
Martin was the sole field athlete on the men's side for the Gophers, who earned a top 25 finish in the long jump with a jump of 6.05 meters.
Goucher will return to action at the Big Apple Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 7th.
